30 Second Board is Up – Tamp ‘25

Race day in Tamp Bay!! Short rhythms, lots of sand, and a tighter stadium. Tampa is an awesome venue and race. It tends to be an underrated round. Since returning to the venue in 2018, the 5 times they have been there has included a very long sand section that gets interesting. That will probably be the key to winning the main event. Figuring out and adjusting to the new lines as the sand gets blown out and rough.

The last time Supercross came to Tampa we saw Cooper Webb take the win over Chase Sexton. Sexton lead from turn one until 4 laps to go, when…wait for it….he lost the front end in the whoops with 4 laps remaining. Typical for Chase to tuck the front. It rained that night, and that was the first “weird-o” ride we saw from Tomac on the Yamaha finishing a distant 5th behind Roczen.

Crazy prediction here I know, but that will be your top 4 come tonight in 2025. Sexton’s mistakes are fewer on the KTM, Webb is always scary late in the race, there is zero rain in the forecast so I don’t expect Eli to go into his shell, and this is a different Roczen. Watching these 4 go at is going to be a sight to see.

My money, figuratively and literally, is on Sexton to win tonight. His confidence is sky high. His starts are the best of this group. He has made fewer mistakes (that aren’t the first lap, yikes) than any other season of his career. Being the red plate holder and having significantly worse odds than Tomac to grab the win, that’s my pick for the night. Lets go Chase!
